What a marvellous afternoon! Poetry from groups and communities from across the region gathered to share their words, bare their souls and fill the audience with awe at the sheer talent in the room.
Our founder and backbone, John Myers was accompanied at the event by Ben Cusden, Zara Luther, Mark Durbidge, Pam Knapp and Mike Litchin. I know I am bias, but I think we made a formidable team!
The groups listed below, delivered with poignance, hilarity and gravitas such wide ranging topics as the heart wrenching loss of loved ones, the sheer beauty of the natural world, the profundities of life, love and time, the horrors of police brutality and the search for who we are, were and will be.
You really could not ask for more from such an impressive gathering of poets, all together in one room for one afternoon at one glorious event.
Our thanks and adoration go to the organisers at the Tunbridge Wells Poetry Festival and special thanks to Peppy Scott and David Smith who hosted the event with their usual flair and warmth. Congratulations on another quite marvellous year of spreading the poetry bug.
Please do look up the organisations below and get in touch, make links, organise meet ups and invitations so that we can more frequently enjoy the work of each other's work and words. The event proved how healing and cathartic poetry is and that is in addition to just how simply wonderful it is to think, write and create.
I am very much looking forward to seeing what wonders next year's event showcases.
