Phil Vernon, our Guest Post for June, finally arrived at the Poetry Café Eastbourne after covid thwarted our previous attempts to showcase his outstanding and widely admired poetry.
In the course of a career in international development and peacebuilding, Phil has attempted to bring order out of chaos, harmony from discord.
Phil is also the author of two major collections of elegant, well structured lyric poems. The Poetry Café was privileged to hear his engaging, softly spoken performance in the delivery of his poems, full of rich metaphors and gentle cadences, and a calm clarity. Truly a master of the art.
He was ably supported on the night by some excellent contributions from the floor. Where on earth would we be without the wonderful community here at the Poetry Cafe?! All are welcome and all are appreciated. Do come and find us at The Dolphin Inn , South St Eastbourne.
Pease do look out for Phil's work, some of which you can find on the links below. Take a look at Phil's moving and important messages in his blog,. You can also find his poetry on the site along with his publications. It really is worth a read!
