Ben Cusden, Guest Poet for May graced our first event held at the Dolphin Inn with an amazing range of poetry for our very appreciative audience. Reading new material that heralded a soundscape of tones and languages that rang out like a meditative incantation. With chant-like rhythms, Ben brought the transcendental to the room. Beauty in the listening of it.
Ben also reminded us all of the plight that the homeless face with poems from his anthology, 'Cut The Black Rabbit'. Reading lines that laid bare stark realities: 'I am the home of the cold', with stark imagery 'Freedom is hard and cold'.
