A double treat for November

A wonderful gathering, warm and welcoming was the setting for our first double guest poet evening. Karen Smith, a Laureats choice by Carol Ann Duffy, delighted us with poetry on English teachers, with their Gatsby and Macbeth. The Catholic Mass and How I came to love the Bed Bug. A truly wonderful mix of quite beautiful words and messages from the heart.

Chris Horton delivered an equally moving set with fathers and thoughts in Red Kite, Wild Boars in Kent and Sussex 'a maverick convoy of muscle and strength.' Both poets complimented one another's poetry to make the evening equally inspiring and heartening.

The poets' had pamphlets available for our gathered open mic-ers and audience. You too can obtain these:

'Schist' by Karen Smith is available at the usual outlets and also here: https://poetrybusiness.co.uk/product/schist/

'Perfect timing' is also available from bookshops in the highstreet and online. or from its publishers here:
